Foundation Governors
Chair of Governors - Bev Hobson
Hello my name is Bev Hobson, currently the Chair of Governors at St. Anne’s C of E school.
I am very proud to have been associated with the school since 1992 when my eldest child started in reception. I was involved in the Parents association for many years and became a parent governor in 2001 and then a Foundation Governor when my youngest daughter left St. Anne’s. I have 3 adult children and a granddaughter. I attend Sunday worship, when work commitments allows, and try to support both the school and the church at fund raising events.
I work full time as a nurse manager in intensive care. I come in to school at least three times each half term to meet with Miss Knight along side attending meetings and Governor training.
I love the outdoors and spending time with family and friends.
Rachel Boyle
Hello, I’m Rachel Boyle and I’m delighted to be part of the Governing Body at St. Anne’s C of E School. Both my daughters attended St. Anne’s, and I’ve always found it to be a truly wonderful school — full of encouragement, care, and opportunities that inspired them to grow in confidence and learn to let their lights shine.
I’ve attended Sunday worship at St. Anne’s for over 18 years and love being part of both the church and school community. Over the years, I’ve made many great friends and enjoy supporting as many church and school events as possible.
I’m a freelance graphic designer and run It’s Your Designer Ltd. Through my work as a small business owner, I’ve developed creative and organisational skills that I hope will support the school’s communication and engagement. I’ve also gained valuable experience serving on the Church PCC and helping organise Sunday school, which I believe will be useful in my role as a Governor.
Outside of work, I love spending time with family and friends. My girls both enjoy sports and we’re their biggest cheerleaders (and taxi drivers!). I enjoy keeping active with gym sessions and the occasional run, and I’m rarely without an audiobook to keep me company — whether I’m walking the dog, running, or cooking tea.
I am really looking forward to supporting the school as a Governor and being a part of the St Anne’s family again.
Chris Jones
I was pleased to be asked as someone with a business background to apply to be a Foundation Governor.
Having joined in Autumn 2019, I am on the Resources, Discipline and Headteacher’s Performance Management committees.
As a lawyer I worked initially in private practice, and then in-house for a large commercial consumer facing organisation in Manchester, where I enjoyed working with a wide variety of people, and gaining experience of a range of legal and business matters.
I live in Sale Moor, and attend church where I have been involved in a number of activities, and am currently Treasurer of St Anne’s.
My hobbies include leisure cycling, swimming, singing in a local community choir, and French classes.
Jackie Sheldon
I became a Foundation Governor in June 2023 and have been a regular worshipper at St. Anne’s Church since I moved to Sale in the 1970’s.
I have been involved with St. Anne’s School for a good number of years as my Son attended the school back in the 1970’s and my two Grandsons also attended. I have also been going into school on a regular basis since October 2000 listening to children read, which I really enjoy and has given me a good insight into how the school is run and how keen the children are to learn.
I am now retired but use to work for the Halifax, originally a Building Society but now a Bank. Previous to that I worked at Trinity Methodist Play Group.
My hobbies are swimming, cycling, gardening and reading plus spending time with the family.
Ngozi Weller
I am thrilled to serve as a foundation governor of St Anne’s School. Both of my children attended St Anne’s before moving to different educational settings and the support that I have received from the staff and fellow parents continues to enrich our lives. I am also an active member of St Anne’s Church, serving in the choir, on chalice and reading duties. I'm delighted that my passion for Christ and serving the community can extend to supporting the school in it’s mission to teach local children to “Inspire, Care, Respect and Challenge”.
I am the director and co-founder of a mental health and wellbeing consultancy that delivers a range of personal development coaching programmes designed to strengthen employee mental resilience and improve workplace productivity. That is why I am keen to ensure that we fully support the personal wellbeing of the people who invest so much time and care in educating and supporting our children. As a Special Needs parent carer, I am also keen to assist with the further development of the SEN policies and procedures, particularly from a parental perspective.
On a personal note, when I'm not doling out advice on all things wellbeing related, I can be found sitting mute on the sofa watching tv with my husband or refereeing fights between my two kids! I’m an avid cook and lover of good food, good music and great company (not necessarily in that order!).
LA Governor
My name is Will Jones. I have previously been a governor at Manor High School in Sale (now Manor Academy) between 2011 and 2016. Where I served as Chair of Governors between 2013 and 2015. During this period the senior management team and governing body guided the school to academy status as a multi-trust academy. I also gained governor experience across committees particularly in personnel and finance.
I currently work as a home-based Software architect for the DXC Technology corporation working health systems, primarily for the NHS. I have a very strong IT background that can be utilised on committees to improve processes at St Anne’s. I live locally in Timperley were have lived for 3 years having previously lived in Sale for 13 years previously.
I am very active as a volunteer with various groups in Timperley and Sale including the Sale Wombles who are a volunteer litter pick group that I jointly established with several other volunteers in 2012. Other groups I am involved with are Friends of Pickering Lodge Park, Timperley Country Fair and Altrincham Festival.
I hope to use my experience to help St Anne’s achieve its ambitions and goals in the coming years.
Parent Governors
Charlotte Hulton
I have been Parent Governor since October 2023 and have been a parent at St Annes since 2013. I was motivated to become a Governor as I have had the privilege of witnessing the social, emotional and academic growth of my own children whilst attending St Annes and want to support the school to ensure all St Anne’s children can benefit from the same experience as my family.
Professionally, I am a school marketing consultant working with schools in the UK and internationally, helping them to build strong marketing and admissions strategies to ensure financial stability and a strong parental offer, experience I hope to be able to draw on to support the growth of the school.
I am a also a strong believer in the importance of children attending their local school and am keen to support and nurture St Anne’s relationship with Sale High.
Mark Brown
I am new to the school, with my son starting Reception in September 2023. The warm supportive welcome we all experienced on joining the school motivated me to join the governing board in October 2023. As prospective parents, we were drawn to the school by its small family feel, yet ambitious academic and extra-curricular offer. As a governor, I aim to support the school to build on its already strong links with the parents and wider community. I also wish to ensure the school continues to pursue its vision of developing confident well-rounded children ready to embark on their secondary education.
My professional background is as a doctor in Emergency Medicine with further interests in medical education, sports medicine, and major incident response. I love the outdoors and enjoy walking, camping, cycling, trail running and wild swimming. I am fortunate to volunteer with the scouts which allows me to share my enjoyment of these activities with the next generation .
