Our School

At St. Anne’s CE Primary School we are a family and we pride ourselves in the role we play within the community. We believe in providing the highest quality education which is personalised to the needs, strengths and interests of our pupils.   We have a dedicated staff, supportive parents and wonderful children.

Our school is a place where everyone is encouraged to be the best that they can be, and a place where they can grow and develop.  At St. Anne’s all our children are valued for their individuality, gifts and talents. We also foster and nurture a community who care for one another, where kindness is promoted and respect is strong. We aim to ensure it is a place where all our school community can have FUN and life-long memories are made.

We have created, and continue to develop, a curriculum that not only promotes high standards and challenges children’s thinking, but a curriculum that also excites and motivates our children and our teaching staff. We are striving to develop children’s knowledge and skills across all areas of the curriculum so that we nurture and develop well-rounded children who could be the leaders, mathematicians, scientists, writers, athletes or historians of their future.

We aim to deliver excellence in education and want the very best outcomes for our children so that they can realise their full potential and strive to achieve it.

Christian Community

Our mission statement and values are deeply Christian, and reflect the Church of England’s ‘Vision for Education’ with the promise by Jesus of ‘life in all its fullness’ (John 10:10) at its heart. At St. Anne’s CE Primary School we believe in ‘educating the whole child’ and equipping children to be global citizens in the 21st century.

Our mission statement and values embrace the spiritual, physical, intellectual, emotional, moral and social development of our young people. We offer a vision of flourishing for all children, one that embraces excellence and academic rigour, but sets them in a wider context. Preparing our children for the careers of the future and the resilience to prioritise their own mental wellbeing when coping with the demands of life.

Positive Mindset

At St. Anne’s CE Primary School we know that intelligence and ability are not fixed. We might not be able to do it YET. We encourage children to CHALLENGE themselves and come out of their comfort zone.  We know that WOBBLING is part of the learning process and we learn from our mistakes. We know we can always improve and believe that FEEDBACK is an essential part of improvement.  We try to help children to aim high and do their best. We reward EFFORT and PERSERVERANCE, as well as praising and celebrating ACHIEVEMENT.

Keeping Safe

Nothing is more important to us than the safety and welfare of our pupils. We take rigorous steps to ensure that children stay safe and do not come to any harm. We work closely with families and a range of professional, external agencies, in order to secure this.  ‘Keeping Safe’ is also an integral part of our curriculum.  Children are taught how to stay safe in the real world and the virtual world.  We also keep parents regularly updated on eSafety advice and guidance.

Safeguarding is our first priority.

Children behave well at St. Anne’s; they are polite and well-mannered. Great care is taken to appoint the best staff who prioritise the well-being of our children and share our values.  Relationships lie at the heart of our approach to Behaviour Management.

SEND & Inclusion

At St. Anne’s CE Primary School we are proud of our inclusivity.  We aim to be at the heart of our community and a place where everyone feels included. We have exceptional experience in providing the best support for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.

We work hard to ensure that everyone can learn, be active, feel safe, make progress and have fun. We have a wide range of effective interventions for: learning; social, emotional and mental health; social communication; speech and language and physical/medical needs. We hold the Dyslexia Quality Mark.  The school is wheelchair accessible.

Wrap Around Care

We run our own Wrap Around Care in school.  This includes: Breakfast Club (7.45am – 9am); After School Club (3.30pm – 6pm) and Holiday Club.  Our ‘Club’ is lead by a highly experienced club manager and staff.

Early Years

Our Early Years Department has been deliberately organised to promote the learning of young children together with an outdoor area, enabling access for continuous play provision. We have highly qualified and experienced staff; one of whom is the EYFS Lead to ensure a smooth transition between the Nursery and Reception classes.

Playing, exploring, active learning, creating and thinking critically are all essential building blocks crucial for igniting children’s curiosity and enthusiasm for learning. This is also vital for building their capacity to learn; to form relationships and thrive. We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum, where the ‘Seven Areas of Learning’ are an integral part of each day. We follow the children’s interests and set themes and topics to stimulate excitement and enthusiasm. All children are valued as individuals and work at their own pace, with the support of knowledgeable staff who are able to differentiate activities specifically tailored to the needs of each child. Children learn and develop through opportunities to interact in positive relationships and enabling environments, which is crucial to their Personal, Social and Emotional Development

A Partnership

At the heart of our ethos is the importance of family. Here within the St. Anne’s family we place great value on our close relationships with parents. This ensures that it is a true partnership and that parents feel fully informed and involved in their children’s learning. Our ‘open-door’ policy encourages openness and transparency. In addition to parents being invited into school to participate and observe sessions, more formal information events are held.  This is alongside two Parents’ Evenings and a full school report in July.
